Yellow belt represents the earth. In which the roots of your Taekwondo form, ready for a beautiful plant to grow. Student has begun to understand the basics of Taekwondo.

The sun is beginning to rise. As with the mornings dawn, the beginner student sees the beauty of the art of Taekwondo but has not yet experienced the power of the technique.

The green colour represents the plant (your Taekwondo) starting to grow from the earth.

The blue colour represents the sky or heaven. Your Taekwondo skills are growing stronger.

At this point the student has mastered and has roots in the basics of Taekwondo. Brown is known as an entry colour.

Red is for danger. At this stage the student is becoming very skilled in their Taekwondo, but still has to learn more about control.

Red-Black. The student must begin a new phase of training that of being a black belt.

The color black is created when all the colors of the light spectrum have been absorbed into opposite of white, therefore signifying maturity and proficiency in Taekwondo. Yet first degree of black belt, is JUST the beginning …
